Joe James - USA Director

Joe James is a lead teacher for Oregon Outreach, Inc. and is currently responsible for operating an alternative education program serving middle and high school youth in the Woodburn, Oregon area. He directly supervises two instructors and one counselor and designs and implements student academic plans and program curriculum.

His other responsibilities include: communication of student progress with parents, probation officers, school officials and related support staff; direct instruction and supervision of students; progress reports and team meetings with students of concern; review and maintenance of student records; and promotion of student accountability through behavior management systems.

Joe most recently served as the lead teacher for the USA/North American student delegation to the 1999 International Youth Environmental Summit in Perth, Australia.

Joe has a master's degree in education and a bachelor's degree in social work.
