No Water 22 Hours

Tomoki Nishibuchi

We had no water yesterday, because the water pipe broke.  So we can’t take a shower, wash face and even use a restroom.  The cause is that the pipe had worked during 66 years.  And pipe broke at a joint that appeared to have been damaged earlier.  It was very hard that there was no water in the day in summer.  We are using water everyday by no think.  But, if there is no water, it must become serious problem.  City officials estimate 5 million gallons of water were lost – about a tenth of Salem’s daily consumption on a summer day.  It’s the nearest problem, so it’s the biggest problem.

Deforestation

Tomoki Nishibuchi

In Japan, people always say “Save nature!” “Save the earth!”.  And there are many rules to protect nature.  Of course, deforestation is depending on Japan now.  But their numbers are very small.  So, there are many trees and natures in Japan.  It’s very beautiful.

In fact, Japanese don’t cut down trees so much in Japan.  But, Japan is becoming big cause of deforestation in other countries.  Many Japanese companies go to Africa or South America, and they cut down a lot of trees.  The people living on the spot also cut down trees.  But the quantity is very little because they do that to live.  Japanese companies do that for money.  It’s a problem.  Now, I have no idea to solve this problem.  So, I think it’s one of good ideas to discuss about this problem in next summit.
