Using Email


It is best if each of you has your own email account.
This way you can easily write your own letters to other people and they can also write you directly.
To get your own free email account, you can get a web mail account through the 21st Century Schoolhouse.

What is web mail?

Web mail is mail that you can use directly through your web browser.
You don't need any special mail program for this.
And you can check it and write email from whatever computer you are on.

How do I get my own "Schoolhouse" account?

You will be given a username and a password.
Your username will usually be your firstname and the first initial of your last name, with no space between the two.

How do I check my mail?

  1. Go to - http://www.21cs.org/mail

  2. Fill in your username, password

  3. For "server" write - www.21cs.org

  4. Choose the third option - "Use a totally text-based interface."

  5. Press "login"


Remember to write down your username and password in a safe place so that you won't forget what they are.
Your email will be - yourusername@21cs.org
