Delegate Representatives
- 2 Representatives from each country will sit upon the Screening Committee
- Each country will have generate a group of Articles, which is 6 Rights and Responsibilities based upon their research area
Goals of the Screening Committee:
- Screen the proposed articles for duplication within each country's research area and develop the Format of the Declaration of Environmental Rights and Responsibilities (except for the Preamble).
PROCEDURESThe Screening Committee shall follow these procedures to achieve its goals:
Reviewing proposed Articles
- Agree on order of review of research areas
- Representatives from each school shall read their proposed Articles (6 Rights and 6 Responsibilities)
- Review the Articles within each research area for duplication
- Using democratic process, modify the Articles so as to eliminate any duplication
- Address and concerns regarding the Articles and/or review process
- If any concerns regarding the review process or Articles cannot be resolved through democratic process, they shall be incorporated into the Declaration under the heading of "Concerns"
- Using the democratic process adopt the reviewed Articles
Generate Format of Declaration
Using the democratic process, generate and agree upon -
- the format for the Rights and Declaration of Environmental Responsibilities, as to be based upon the Declaration of Human Rights created by the United Nations.
- the order of each research areas Articles
- the sequence of the Articles in each research area and number the Articles
- develop appropriate headings for each research area
Present final Articles to the Chairpersons so it can be printed and uploaded on to the website.
Post-Committee Responsibilities of RepresentativesReport the results of the Screening Committee to your home delegation, including the modifications and any concerns The General Assembly will adopt the Reviewed Articles on Friday October 1, 1999.
