WMC Kwinana Nickel Refinery have been actively involved in sponsorship of the Environmental Summit since June 1996.

The partnership between industry and school developed as a result of the enthusiasm and commitment of the Warnbro Community High School staff and students and the keen receptiveness of WMC to become involved in a community learning project. Meeting the founders and project coordinators of the International Environmental Summit reaffirmed the purpose and need for such a program.

WMC have had absolutely no regrets on their decision to participate, and have enjoyed their involvement, receiving some very positive public recognition from the school, staff and students.

WMC's sponsorship has assisted WCHS in the 1997 International Summit as well as their annual Environmental Museum displays held at the school. WMC maintains a close relationship with WCHS and remains informed on the developments of their exciting environmental learning program.
